Welcome to LittleSteps. By downloading, installing, or using the LittleSteps mobile application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Description of Service
LittleSteps is a private family journaling application that allows parents and guardians to capture, organize, and preserve photos and milestones of their children. The App is intended for personal, non-commercial use.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account and use LittleSteps. The App is designed for parents and guardians — it is not intended for use by children.
3. Account Registration
To use LittleSteps, you must create an account using your email address or a supported third-party authentication provider (Apple, Google). You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and complete information
- Maintaining the security of your account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
4. User Content
You retain full ownership of all content (photos, captions, and other data) that you upload or create within the App ("User Content"). By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the LittleSteps service to you.
You represent that you have the right to upload any content you submit, and that your content does not violate any third party's rights or any applicable law.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our servers or infrastructure
- Use automated systems or scripts to access the App
6. Partner Sharing
LittleSteps allows you to invite a partner to share your family journal. By inviting a partner, you consent to them viewing and contributing to the shared journal. Both partners have equal access to shared content. Either partner may leave the shared journal at any time.
7. Privacy
Your use of LittleSteps is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time through the App's Settings. Upon deletion, all your personal data, journal entries, and photos will be permanently removed from our servers. This action is irreversible. For details on data retention timelines, see our Privacy Policy.
9. Intellectual Property
The LittleSteps App, including its design, code, graphics, and branding, is owned by LittleSteps and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our prior written consent.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
LittleSteps is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LittleSteps and its owners, officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $50 USD, whichever is greater.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LittleSteps and its owners from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of the App, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.
13. Modifications to the Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any part of it at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant changes that affect your use of the service.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms within the App and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of LittleSteps after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
